The Professional Parent Wins Special Jury Award for Outstanding Directorial Approach at FOFR Festival

Director Erik Jasaň's short fiction film has received an award at the international FOFR Film Festival in Prague for its outstanding directorial approach.
Prague, October 2026 – The Professional Parent, a short fiction film directed by Erik Jasaň, has received the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Directorial Approach at the fourth edition of the international FOFR Student Film Festival in Prague. The festival took place from 8 to 10 October 2026 at Kampus Hybernská in Prague.
The film tells the story of Ingrid, a single mother who decides to become a professional foster parent to a Roma girl in a village in eastern Slovakia marked by anti-Roma prejudice. Her decision is motivated by a desire to provide financial support for her own daughter and grandmother. Through this personal story, the film explores family relationships, prejudice, and social barriers.
"I'm truly honoured that the FOFR Festival jury recognised our film and awarded it the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Directorial Approach. I would like to thank the entire festival team for the invitation, their support, and for creating a space where we can not only talk about films but also reflect on what they leave behind in us.
I was also delighted by the discussion following the screening. As a director, I find these encounters with audiences incredibly important. They allow me to see the story from new perspectives and better understand the different ways in which it can resonate with people. My thanks go to the FOFR Festival and to everyone who watched the film and gave it their time and attention."
